St David’s Day

Ealing House had a lovely St David’s Day. They had a morning of Welsh themed activities in the company of the children from Jenny and Sara’s Childminding Services.

These included making a fire breathing dragon, a daffodil, and completing a selection of colouring pages and word searches.

Then a lunch was served of Welsh Cawl and potato cakes followed by barnbrack.

In fact a week of welsh themed meals and activities were enjoyed.

This included a reminiscence session when those who attended remembered holidays they had enjoyed in Wales. To everyone’s amazing Celia spoke Welsh to everyone as she recalled her days of growing up on the Welsh border!

We had a book about Dewi Saint (Saint David) which told the story of how and why St David became the patron saint of Wales.

Welsh bingo was another activity enjoyed by many, and brought a lot of laughter whist it was being played.

There were even two special Welsh punches prepared which were tried and reviewed by all. They were both very refreshing to the palate.
