Chinese New Year

Home/Uncategorized/Chinese New Year

We certainly saw Chinese New Year in with style.

Once again the dining room was decorated up for the festival.

It is the year of the monkey in the Chinese calendar, so we made some monkey place mats to go on the tables along with some crafted dragons and monkeys.

We had our own Ealing House monkey in the form of Maurice who was oohing about in his joking manor!

We looked at special Chinese plates, a sandalwood fan Chinese money and  a red lion puppet.

Chinese music played as a wonderful meal was served:

Starter  consisting of Prawn toast & spring rolls.

Main Course of: Sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken, chow mien prawn crackers and rice.

Dessert: Lychee and mango dessert.

Followed by a fortune cookie.

There was a selection of Chinese soft drinks to try to finish off all in all what had been a wonderful occasion.

The tablet was used to watch a dragon dance and firework displays in Beijing.
