The Waveney Stardust

We arranged a day out on the broads for those who wished to go.

There was a boat moored for the summer at Stalham Staithe which was suitably equipped for those in wheelchairs.

So we thought we’d go along to see what it was like. We were blessed with a wonderful summers day. The mini bus arrived at 13:45 and we set off for Stalham. Everyone was issued with either a ‘Captain’s’ hat or a sun hat to enter into the spirit of our forthcoming adventure.

It was lovely to see all the fields along the way with their harvests growing well in the warmth of the summer sunshine.

We were greeted at the Staithe by the crew, who then assisted us all on board.

Once everyone was settled we set sail for a two hour cruise along the river. We ventured up to Waveney Bridge, and then down to Barton Broad. There are many gorgeous properties en-route, along with stunning scenery for all to enjoy. We saw many species of birds, including some kingfishers.

Refreshments were served on board which were thoroughly enjoyed.

The two hours passed by all too quickly, and we were back for tea and to tell the others all about it.

In fact it was so popular that another trip was booked as it had encouraged others to go.
