Norfolk Day

Home/Uncategorized/Norfolk Day

This year saw the first recognised Norfolk Day.

We thought we would participate in the celebrations by hosting an ‘Open Day’ at Ealing House.

We decided to call it ‘All the fun of the fair’ so we could open up the gardens and show off all our traditional  games. Family and friends were invited to come along to join in the fun.

We also encouraged people from the village to come along by putting up posters and using  the local Facebook page. The newly appointed Mayor Mary Coleman came along to meet everyone. She even entered into some fierce competition with her husband Barry when they played the ‘Car Game’!! There was no winner between them both scored a total of 75! Hopefully they will come back next year for a rematch!!!

Suzy and Graham were in charge of the BBQ, which was very popular. The spin the wheel was also exciting, providing much entertainment to those who took part. There was also a raffle, tombola, hook a duck and the ever popular cake stall.

We raised an amazing £448 which has gone into the residents fund. Which will be used for our on going programme of activities, outings and events. Thank you for your support.

Unfortunately despite the sunshine there was a terrific wind so we were battling against the odds at having some of the stalls outside. However in true Ealing House fashion the show went on!!

Everyone who came seemed to enjoy themselves, we look forward to next year, as we have heard it was a great success throughout the county and will be repeated once again. Hope you will be able to join us.
