Martham Carnival

Home/Uncategorized/Martham Carnival

This years carnival had the theme of ‘The World of Children’s games and toys”.

We put our ‘Thinking Caps’ on and decided on the game OPERATION! ‘Wally’ the scarecrow became the character for the board game and  the others could be placed on the float as if they were playing the game!

We had a working party who met early in the morning to ‘dress’ Richie Warnes van which he kindly lent to the home for the day

Wally was strategically placed on a bed ontop of the float with all sorts of things attached to resemble the parts in the game.

There was a wish bone, an ice cream (brain freeze), a cuddly horse (Charley horse is a spasm in your thigh).

A wrench for a wrenched ankle, a watering can for water on the knee, a broken heart etc etc! Look at the photos to see what else you can see.

Surrounding the bed were our usual characters, Lauren, Lilac Mae, Daphne and Vince!

The real Vince, Tyna and Elaine volunteered to walk with the float collecting money for the resident’s fund. Raising £105.50 for their efforts Well done.Thank you to everyone who contributed.

We were able to get many of the residents outside to enjoy the parade. They sat at the side of the main road enjoying the hundreds of people who passed by. Once the parade had passed ice creams were enjoyed before we returned to the cool of the home.

What a lovely day. Thank you to the organisers, it’s great to be part of the village.
