Martham Carnival

Home/Uncategorized/Martham Carnival

There was great excitement when we heard that Richie Warnes, (a local builder and relative of Tilly), was willing to let us loose with his truck for the carnival procession!!

We got straight to work planning what we were going to do with the truck, making sure we followed the guidelines of a ‘story book’ theme.  The truck was not licensed for live passengers, so the scarecrows came out of hiding! They were soon transformed into characters from ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.

On the morning of the carnival, Richie arrived with the truck and helped with the more awkward fittings. Then the characters were put into place and secured ready for their journey around the village!

The finished truck looked really amazing I think you’ll agree.

We were delighted to have The Dragon Theatre Stage School stop by and sing to the residents as they sat outside in the warm weather.

Also Thank you to Bob Warnes who managed to get some of the procession to come past Ealing House which meant that those who prefer to stay inside could also enjoy the day.

I think you’ll agree it was a fantastic procession and there was a wonderful atmosphere about the village.

Vince was nominated as bucket carrier, and we are delighted to say he collected £41.89 for Macmillan. Well worth the walk round on such a great day.
