Halloween

We were really saddened to not be able host a Halloween party this year or even feel that we could leave out treats for all the children in the village.

We were delighted when Sara turned up with the children, bringing us a pumpkin which they had carved.

We spent some of our activity sessions preparing Halloween games.  These included: Tin can alley, noughts and crosses, bean bag throw, hoopla there was also a bingo.

These we then played during a week long ‘build up’ to our Halloween party.

No animals for us at the party this year; but a more traditional tea party. Chris hosted a Halloween themed quiz (thanks to Sue Brown who wrote it)  There was also time for a game of ‘Guess how many seeds in the pumpkin!!!!’. With Shelagh with the winning guess of 135 there were in fact 134! How close was that?!

There was spooky food, with ‘severed finger’ sausages and sandwiches; eyeball tomatoes and eggs. Monster munch etc etc!

This was finished off with a Spooktacular cake, made by our friend Anna.

Everything was washed down with a Witches Brew, which proved very popular indeed.

The following day there was a spooky trifle made by the residents and Elaine for dessert.

All in All a lovely evening, but also a fun October

Hope you enjoy the photos they are in no particular order, but depict our lovely time.
