As ever our Chinese New Year celebrations were a little OTT!!
This year is the year of the Ox
We had a beautiful Chinese banquet lunch, prepared by Suzy. (Chow Mein, Lemon Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Egg Friend Rice,
Spring Rolls, and Prawn Toast. Followed by Lychee and Mango Sundae).
we were also delighted with a surprise visit from the children with Sara.
It was a Random Act of Kindness Day, they came along bearing gifts. To be honest just to see them at the window was enough excitement. They sang some songs to us complete with actions bringing a tear to many of us.
How lucky were we?
During Lunch there was a trivia quiz to test our Chinese knowledge, hosted by Christina.
We also enjoyed reading our fortunes, on some special ox cards, and in fortune cookies. There was a basket of Chinese foods and drinks to try. These included Chinese cookies, and Chinese green tea.
There were Chines word searches and Chinese New Year books to look through, making it a very enjoyable day all round.
