Burns Day

We were delighted to welcome Ian the Piper back to Ealing House to help us to ‘Pipe in the Haggis’ as part of our Burns Day celebrations. (Ian has been for the last two years, and is brilliant).

During the weeks before we had been busy making Scottish themed place mats along with some wonderful wall art to display. This included thistles, highland cattle and a Scottish boy playing the bagpipes. There was even time to make some shortbread, thanks to Elaine and Ann.

We enjoyed the traditional Scottish meal of Haggis, Mash and Neaps, followed by Cranachan, a raspberry and oat dessert. There was a Wee dram of Scottish whiskey for those who wished. To finish the meal teas and coffees were served with whiskey liqueurs.

All in all a great day was had by all.
