Memorial Service

Home/Uncategorized/Memorial Service

We decided that we should dedicate and area of our garden to remember those who have sadly passed away since we took over in December 2012. We felt that the boarder around the water feature would provide a quiet and tranquil place for people to reflect on those we have lost.

So preparations to renovate this area got underway. Heart shaped stones were prepared bearing the names of each resident who’d passed away.

We also felt that it would be appropriate to hold a Memorial Service in their name.

The services of Celebrant Carol Stratford were sought, she was able to assist with the planning of the service. Families were contacted to come along to join us.

We were blessed with a lovely spring day, this meant that the service could be held outside.

Christina read a poem, Carol Stratford played her guitar to the songs we’d chosen.

Whilst she played Amazing Grace, Vince and Jenny laid the stones around the fountain.

Following an Ealing House poem, refreshments were served; allowing not only time to see the stones in place, but to catch up with relatives and friend’s  who’d come along.
