1950’s Reminiscence with Sheila Parish

What a lovely afternoon we spent with Sheila Parish. She came down from Sheringham, North Norfolk where she has a vintage shop. She likes to share all the wonderful items she has for sale by holding reminiscence sessions on different eras. Today she brought with her a collection of things from the 1950’s.
She also made us an afternoon tea using a Be-Ro cookery book from the 1950’s to get her recipes from. It was at this time that Be-Ro became part of the Rank Hovis institution. She made a fruit cake, jam tarts, chocolate cake and a Victoria sponge. For refreshments she made ginger beer (both fiery and mild) as well as morrello cherry cordial.
Everyone really enjoyed looking and listening about time in the 1950’s. Graham bought along some photos and a school report to share which gave everyone a smile as he was ‘top’ of the class. Well done to him.
